Key features and review of the BenQ-Siemens EL71

The BenQ-Siemens EL71 is a stylish and lightweight camera mobile phone with slide opening feature. The phone built in an elegant quartz anthracite color with a brushed aluminum & magnesium finish body. It measures 90 x 46.3 x 16.5 mm and weighs 94g (including battery). BenQ-Siemens EL71 is powered by a Li-ion 570 mAh standard battery, which has capacity to work up to 300 hours in standby mode and talk time up to 5 hours. Its battery takes 128 minutes to full charge.

The BenQ-Siemens EL71 comes with an excellent 320 x 240 pixels (QVGA) TFT 256K colors display screen, this is really great feature for a mobile phone, because this QVGA resolution normally found in PDAs, PSP and in high-end cell phones. Just move the front cover you will find a numeric keypad. But, this keypad you can use only if you make a call or write text messages; because all the basic buttons are available at the front cover, so if you just want to receive call and listen music you don't need to slide front cover.

BenQ-Siemens EL71 is equipped with a 1.3 mega pixel camera that can captures both still photos and video clips. It supports for Tri-band GSM 900/GSM 1800/GSM 1900 MHz as well as GPRS, WAP and a range of applications such as Java MIDP 2.0, 64-channels polyphonic ring tones, Bluetooth, SMS, MMS, Email, screensavers, wallpapers, Vibration alert, Voice memo, Photo call, T9, Alarm, Games, Calendar, calculator, Currency converter, organizer and phonebook where you may store up to 1000 records. It comes with 16 MB of built-in memory to store lot of ring tones, MP3 music, wallpapers and screensavers.

Overall, BenQ-Siemens EL71 has good looks, light and compact body, good reception and good sound quality. But, there are some negative points with the phone, which may be disappoint you; Short battery life; no headphones included; rubbery number pad; stills are rather flat.
